2012 PEAK Team Mission Trip

Below is a copy of the letter that explains all about this year's trip :)

Dear Family & Friends…
It is with great excitement that I write to you today. I want to let you know about an opportunity for you to partner with Faith, Kristian & myself as we prepare for a Missions Trip this July.  Faith was selected again this year to join an extensive discipleship training program at our church. The program is called P.E.A.K. (Putting Everything Aside for the King) which is open to children 10-12 years old. Faith had to go through auditions and try out to be on the team. She had to give her personal testimony, dance, act, sing and go through an interview. You see, it’s a pretty big deal…although tons of kids try out, only 12-15 kids get chosen each year. She was so excited when she got the call that she had made the 2012 team!
Being on the P.E.A.K. Team means a huge commitment, she spends 4-5 hours every Sunday afternoon at practice/ministry training and about an hour a day doing her devotions, scripture memorization and bible reading. It takes a lot of stamina to learn all the dances and dramas but she loves it! We have been training for months now and will start localized ministry this month BUT the highlight of the year is our Missions Trip. This year we are headed to Texas, specifically the Dallas/Fort Worth area from July 6th – July 15th. We will be visiting some orphanages, assisted living homes and local churches too! Our ministry days will be action packed from morning to evening…8-10 hours days! The trip to and from Texas is also filled with ministry opportunity as we will be ministering along the way. We will be gone a total of 10 days and plan to spend one day at Six Flags as a fun day for the kids to relax and break up the trip. Last year was such an incredible trip and we saw miracles happen and lives changed...each child became an instrument that God used to minister to the broken.
This year I will going as one of the bus drivers, which means I don't have to raise my funds because my expenses are paid. However, Kristian is serving as a counselor this year to one of the boy teams and as such he will be raising his funds for the trip along with Faith's funds. They both need to raise $700 each to cover expenses and fees. Last year we saw God faithfully provide as each of you generously gave to help us on our journey. This year we are confident He will do the same and we are super excited to see what He is going to do on this trip!

If you believe in making a difference in the lives of others please consider partnering with us to help with the expenses. Your donation is making it possible for us to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those hurting and searching for Him! I am asking you to prayerfully consider supporting us this year.
I will be blogging about the trip again this year as we walk out this journey so that you can follow along from the comfort of your own home. I will be updating as things happen between now and the time we leave, as well as while we are on the trip. You can follow us online at www.faithonamission.blogspot.com
Please keep us in your prayers both before and during our trip. We are asking for prayer beginning specifically the week of June 15th. We will be starting a 21 day fast before the trip and it starts on the 15th. We are asking that you pray for safety during our travel, for souls to be saved and lives to be touched, for God to be made real to people and for good health for our entire team.  We would be honored should you choose to participate.
If you have any questions please let me know…I cannot thank you enough for prayerfully considering partnering with us on this journey!
Blessings…Kristian, Angel & Faith Kennedy
